The Ministry of Transport and Communications has announced that classic vehicles from 1980 and earlier whose registrations were previously cancelled due to failure to renew will now be allowed to re-register as classic cars, with designated penalty fees.

Only vehicles that were previously registered will be eligible, and they will be assigned new license plate numbers. Classic vehicles that were never registered before will not be accepted. Re-registration can be done at regional, state, and district Road Transport Administration Department offices from 1 December 2025 to 31 March 2026.
