Clarification Meeting: Implementation of National Database System

A clarification meeting on the implementation of the National Database System was held at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
Union Minister U Myint Kyaing, in his capacity as the Secretary of the Steering Committee for Establishing the National Database and Chairman of the Work Committee on the e-ID System, attended the event and delivered a speech.
He stated that the Ministry is actively pursuing three main objectives: issuing UID numbers, digitizing public services, and issuing Smart Cards that can interlink with various public services, while carrying out the 5 phases of e-ID system.
Currently, the Ministry is engaged in scrutinizing tasks related to Sim Card Registration, conducting data analysis to support people with disabilities, and verifying personal data for bank account holders in collaboration with relevant ministries.
The Union Minister called for cooperation of all concerned individuals in the transition process towards a digital system to ensure the effective implementation of the National Database system. During the meeting, attendees also discussed the need for human resource development, plans to provide assistance, and future strategies.
