Clarification and Demonstration: MEVM clarified and trial voting conducted

The Union Election Commission is conducting clarification and demonstration regarding with the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) and it was carried out at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in the morning on August 31st and attended by the Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw, Deputy Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung and the officers and staff members of the Ministry.

The officers and staff members of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration Head Office in Yangon and the head officers of offices in the regions and states also attended via Video Conferencing System.

In the afternoon, the clarification and demonstration were performed at the Ministry of Legal Affairs and attended by Union Minister and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General Dr. Htein Lin Oo and the officers and staff members of the Ministry and conducted test voting.

The clarification and demonstration regarding with the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) was carried out by the members of UEC U Aung Lwin Oo, U Ko Ko Lwin and officials concerned from the UEC and the trial voting was conducted.

The security system of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) can be assured and as it is not the Internet and Wireless System, the unscrupulous technical interruption cannot be done. All kinds of voters will enable to vote easily and clearly just on their fingertip and the election will fully reflect the voters’ desire that is the essence of an election.

A total of 515 officers and staff members of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations including 98 from the Ministry and Directorate of Investment and Company Administration Head Office in Yangon and the head officers of offices in the regions and states 417 from the and 217 from the Ministry of Legal Affairs attended the clarification and demonstration of electronic voting machine and conducted trial voting.

Until to date, a total of 5766 officers and staff members from 28 Ministries have been conducted trial voting.
