Clarification and Demonstration: MEVM clarified and test voting conducted

The Union Election Commission is conducting clarification and demonstration regarding with the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) and it was carried out at the Ministry of Labour in the morning on August 16 and attended by the Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung, Deputy Minister U Win Shein and the officers and staff members of the Ministry.

In the afternoon, the clarification and demonstration was performed at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and attended by the Union Minister Dr. Soe Win, Deputy Minister U Soe Kyi and the officers and staff members of the Ministry and conducted test voting.

The clarification and demonstration regarding with the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) was carried out by the members of UEC U Aung Lwin Oo, U Ko Ko Lwin and officials concerned from the UEC. By using this voting machine, it’s clear and easy for the voters in their voting and the voting result will also be counted accurately.

By voting through voting machine, it can prevent the voting frauds occurred by printing and distributing ballot papers as well as the problem of invalid voting papers which became useless of voting by the voters. A total of 127 officers and staff members of the Ministry of Labour and 210 from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement attended the clarification and demonstration of electronic voting machine and conducted test voting.
