Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council, addressed recent allegations surrounding an incident in Buthidaung Township of Rakhine State.
The Maj-Gen clarified that while some accuse the Tatmadaw of causing a fire outbreak, others claim it was instigated by the Muslim community. He highlighted the involvement of an Indian media outlet and denounced their reporting on the matter.
Furthermore, the Maj-Gen pointed to the AA terrorist leader's social media post alleging the capture of Hindus and Buddhists by Islamic terrorist groups. The Maj-Gen emphasized that these allegations aim to stoke racial tensions and misrepresent the Tatmadaw and security forces.
Additionally, the Maj-Gen disclosed threats from AA terrorists to local residents, coercing them to oppose the Tatmadaw or face evacuation. He asserted that these actions are accompanied by false accusations to divert attention.
Despite these challenges, efforts are ongoing to prevent conflict and maintain peace in the Buthidaung/ Maungdaw area. The Maj-Gen reaffirmed a commitment to fostering understanding and harmony among residents. He stressed that any individual who supports the acts of AA terrorists is also supporting terrorist acts and drug trafficking worldwide.
