A Chinese tech company is looking to develop a successful smart driving system that can truly make a splash in the world of water transportation by acting like a “smart brain” for vessels.

The firm, Orcauboat, is the only Chinese company to have recently advanced into the top five in the Dubai World Challenge for Self-driving Transport 2025. Emphasizing on fully integrated autonomous ecosystems, the challenge aims to set new benchmarks for the future of self-driving transport.

While being shortlisted in the challenge’s autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) race, Orcauboat has been committed to a strategy that applies intelligent solutions and adopting new energy in developing ASVs. The smart driving system that the company aims at developing this year will provide unmanned driving solutions to ASVs used in the shipping and leisure industries as well as in other broader applications such as in waste collection.
