Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi unveils first electric car

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi unveiled its first electric vehicle on Thursday and promptly aiming to become one of the world's top five automakers.

The sedan, dubbed for Speed Ultra, is a highly anticipated model with the "super electric motor" technology, capable of delivering acceleration speed.

The model is integrated with Xiaomi software to enable functionality across the firm's range of devices, and will be produced by local manufacturer BAIC.
