Chinese scientists open capsule containing samples from its lunar probe

Chinese scientists in Beijing opened a capsule containing samples from the far side of the moon after the Chang'e 6 probe successfully returned to earth.

China's lunar probe brought back rock and soil samples from the side of the Moon facing away from Earth, a poorly understood region that scientists said holds great research promise because its rugged features are less smoothed over by ancient lava flows than the near side.
