Chinese president meets senior Vietnamese officials

Chinese president Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Luong Cuong, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and permanent member of the CPV Central Committee Secretariat, in Beijing on Friday.

During the meeting, Xi pointed out that adhering to the leadership of the communist party and the socialist system constitutes the most essential feature of China and Viet Nam, and serves as the most solid political foundation for developing bilateral relations. For his side, Cuong said Viet Nam has always regarded developing relations with China as the objective necessity, a strategic choice and top priority of its overall foreign policy.
