Chinese president meets Russian Prime Minister in Moscow

Chinese President Xi Jinping met Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow on Thursday. Xi said the China-Russia relationship has entered a new era, which will enrich the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination with new content.

Xi said it is significant for safeguarding the interests of the two countries and peoples, and world peace, stability and prosperity to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia. Medvedev said a certain country outrightly goes against international law and basic norms of international relations to impose sanctions at will and suppress enterprises of other countries. He said Russia and China should enhance their strategic cooperation and join hands in dealing with these challenges. Xi's visit to Russia comes as the two countries are embracing the historic moment of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
