Chinese Premier Li Qiang hails three-way talks with SE Asia, Gulf nations

Malaysia is hosting the inaugural summit between ASEAN, China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) from May 27 to 28.

During the summit, Chinese Premier Li Qiang told the meeting was "a pioneering work of regional economic cooperation" against the backdrop of a "volatile international situation". Li subsequently instigated a 90-day pause for most, the experience has spurred the ASEAN and others to accelerate efforts to diversify their trading networks.
