Chinese mainland reports 14 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday

Chinese health authority said on Wednesday that 14 new COVID-19 cases were reported on the Chinese mainland on Tuesday, with nine being domestically transmitted cases. No new death and no new suspected case were reported on the day. The existing number of confirmed imported cases was 80, with two in serious conditions.

The mainland had reported a total of 2,020 imported cases with zero death. A total of 83,707 confirmed cases had been reported, with 78,840 of them discharged from hospitals after recovery. The National Health Commission said that 22 new asymptomatic cases were also reported on the mainland, including eight imported from overseas. No asymptomatic case was re-categorized as a confirmed case. There were also a total of 164 asymptomatic cases including 84 imported ones undergoing medical observation, according to the commission. Moreover, 2,018 confirmed cases with 14 deaths had been reported in Hong Kong, 46 confirmed cases in Macao, and 455 in Taiwan region including seven deaths.
