China's President Xi Jinping arrives at Kazakh presidential palace for talks

China's President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan on 2 July, and he was welcomed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Akorda residence. Xi is in Kazakhstan to attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

This is Xi's fifth visit to Kazakhstan and the second one in less than two years, following his previous state visit in September 2022. The visit this time is expected to bring a renewed focus on the multifaceted aspects of bilateral ties and cooperation.
