China, Turkmenistan pledge to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov on Saturday in Chengdu of China.

During the meeting,they have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, energy and cultural exchanges. Wang added that China is willing to further expand the scale of trade and investment cooperation with Turkmenistan and will encourage more Chinese-funded enterprises to invest in Turkmenistan.

Meredov said Turkmenistan adheres to permanent friendship with China and is willing to keep close high-level exchanges with China. Meredov was in China to attend the fifth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
