China Trip: Delegation arrives back after 3rd Trans-Himalaya Forum

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi arrived back in Yangon on Saturday evening after attending the 3rd Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation held in Xizang Autonomous Region of China, from October 4th to 6th.

During the trip, in addition to attending the Forum, on October 5, the Union Minister visited Zaxigang Tibetan village at Lulan city and observed the Community-Based Tourism business, traditional archery, horse riding and forest hiking for domestic and foreign visitors.

On October 6, the Union Minister visited the 4,300-hectare Lulan Forest Conservation Area and the officials explained the conservation of the evergreen forest, watershed areas, the research activities for biodiversity and ecosystem and the public recreation.

Then, the Union Minister raised the queries in response to the explanation. On the same day, the Union Minister visited the Yani National Wetland Park and observed the mountain water resources, grassy plains, preservation of glacier ecosystems and wild animals as well as bird species.

Later the day, the Union Minister paid homage to the Lamaling Buddhist Temple and learned about the Tibetan traditional architecture and religious practices.
