China-Myanmar border gate reopen: Sesame and bean price soaring in Mandalay market

The prices of sesame and bean rising and is brisk in Mandalay market as the China-Myanmar border gate has officially reopen on 8th January.  The China-Myanmar border gate has reopened after shut down for 3 years during the COVID-19 pandemic and there will be more job opportunities for merchants and workers.

Soe Win Myint, Brokerage (Mandalay) said "We heard that the China-Myanmar border gate has reopened on 8th January. At the same time, the current prices of beans and sesame are rising again in the market. In last year, the price of mung beans was only 110,000 kyats per bag and rising to 140,000 kyats this year."

Due to the reopening of China-Myanmar border gate, the price of peanuts has been soared from 3250 kyats per viss to 6700 kyats and the prices of sesame seeds has also been high from 185,000 kyats to 270,000 kyats per bag in the market.
