China launches new remote sensing satellite

China sent a new remote sensing satellite into space on Wednesday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

Atop a Long March-4C carrier rocket, the satellite Yaogan-33 04 was launched at 4:15 a.m. Beijing Time, and has entered the preset orbit.

The satellite will be mainly used for scientific experiments, land resource surveys, agricultural product yield estimation and disaster prevention and relief.

The Long March-4C is a three-stage launch vehicle fueled by liquid propellant. This is the 489th flight mission of the Long March rocket series.
