China holds overnight rehearsal for major military parade

China held an overnight rehearsal for an upcoming military parade on Sunday, to mark the 80th anniversary of victory over Japan and the end of World War II, where it will unveil new domestically-produced military hardware. President Xi Jinping will inspect troops in the capital's Tiananmen Square at the September 3 event, with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and other world leaders expected to attend.
