China to deepen trust with Afghanistan & Pakistan

China is ready to promote good-neighborliness and deepen trust with Afghanistan and Pakistan, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said Thursday following Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to Kabul. Wang met Afghan Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Interior Minister and Foreign Minister and joined the sixth China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue.

China reaffirmed support for Afghanistan’s governance, development, counterterrorism efforts, and stability. The three sides agreed to intensify exchanges, strengthen strategic trust, improve Afghanistan-Pakistan relations, and expand cooperation through the trilateral mechanism to advance regional peace and prosperity.
