China builds new presidential palace in Pacific's Vanuatu

President of Vanuatu Nikenike Vurobaravu and Chinese officials walked in a celebration parade outside the newly constructed presidential palace in the South Pacific nation's capital during an official handover ceremony.

The government of Vanuatu will soon settle into a suite of new buildings funded by China. Vanuatu is a country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, consisting of a chain of 13 principal and many smaller islands located about 500 miles west of Fiji and 1,100 miles east of Australia.
