China, Azerbaijan establish comprehensive strategic partnership

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev hold a bilateral meeting and signing ceremonies at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday. The two leaders announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. 

"President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to President Xi Jinping for the warm hospitality and sincere reception extended to the Azerbaijani delegation and, in turn, invited President Xi Jinping to visit Azerbaijan at a mutually convenient time," the Joint Statement reads. China and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on mutual visa exemption, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced.
