China / ASEAN : Technology Transfer & Collaborative Innovation

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw left for the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday to attend the 11th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation in Nanning of Guangxi province.

On arrival at the WuXu International Airport of Nanning, they were welcomed by Chinese and Myanmar officials. Later the day, the delegation together with the Chinese and ASEAN science and technology minsters attended a dinner hosted by the Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

During the dinner, Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw and  Minister for Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Wang Zhigang exchanged views on cooperation of science and technology sector, scholarship programme, technology transfer, research cooperation, plan to establish Myanmar Digital Economy Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and food technology issues.

On Thursday, the Union Minister attended the 11th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation at International Conference Center. The ministers of science and technology from China, Cambodia and Malaysia and the Union Minister delivered keynote speeches.

And, they attended the opening of the “2023 China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition”. In the afternoon, the Union Minister observed the technologies of Artificial Intelligence-AI and Digital Economy at the Information Hub.

He also viewed around the teaching situations, implementation of practical teaching at workshops and LAB rooms at the Nanning Transportation Vocational School. Later the day, he left for Guilin to attend the China-ASEAN International Forum on Innovation and Cooperation for Sustainable Development that will be held on 14th of July.
