China, ASEAN, GCC pledge to deepen cooperation

Amid escalating global challenges, China, ASEAN and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries Tuesday agreed to promote cross-regional cooperation. According to a joint statement released after a landmark trilateral summit in Kuala Lumpur, the relevant countries acknowledged their joint efforts to promote closer cooperation among China, ASEAN, and GCC and China's vision to build a closer community with a shared future in the new era.

They recognize the need to strengthen confidence in the rules-based multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core and reaffirm the countries' resolve to make economic globalization more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial to their peoples and future generations.
