China and Russia Joint Sea-2024

Warships participating in the China-Russia Naval Exercise, dubbed “Joint Sea-2024”, assembled at a military port in Zhanjiang City, south China’s Guangdong Province, on 12th July. The Chinese side held a warm welcome ceremony for the Russian naval fleet. The exercise aims to demonstrate the resolve and capabilities of the two sides in jointly addressing maritime security threats and preserving global and regional peace and stability.

The participating Chinese forces include the guided-missile destroyer Nanning, the guided-missile frigates Xianning and Dali, the comprehensive supply ship Weishanhu, as well as shipborne helicopters and marines. The two sides will hold professional seminars, visit each other’s ships, and engage in cultural exchange activities such as tai chi instruction, friendly ball games, and deck receptions.
