China and India Agree to Strengthen Bilateral Relations during the meeting

China and India agreed on Monday to maintain momentum in bilateral ties during talks between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian External Affairs Minister SubrahmanyamJaishankar. Wang highlighted challenges in the current global landscape, including unilateral actions and threats to free trade and the international order.

He called on the two largest developing countries, with a combined population of over 2.8 billion, to demonstrate global responsibility, set an example for other developing nations, and promote multipolarity and democratization of international relations. Wang said China-India relations are showing positive trends toward cooperation and stressed the importance of viewing each other as partners rather than rivals. During the talk, both ministers also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
