Chilean stadium structure collapses during training

Two heavy metal structures fell over a section of the stands at Chile's Monumental Stadium in the capital, Santiago, leaving at least four Colo-Colo soccer fans injured during a club training session on Friday.

An unknown number of fans had climbed on the pillars supporting advertising, which may have contributed to their fall, according to preliminary reports. No official information on the exact number of injured or the extent of the injuries has yet been released.

Cheers and encouragement of clubs are authorized and common among supporters, especially Colo-Colo supporters, when training for an important match. The club suspended training and returned to the locker room at the stadium, south-east of the center of the Chilean capital.
