In Turkiye’s eastern Kars province, children are receiving professional ski training through the “Future Olympic Athletes” project. The training sessions are held at the Sarikamis Osman Yuce Ski Center and are attended by 40 children between the ages of 8 and 15. The children receive four hours of training each day under the supervision of professional coaches.
Launched five years ago, the “Future Olympic Athletes” project has attracted great interest in the region. Within the scope of the project, many young skiers have been trained and introduced to professional skiing. Officials state that the project aims to discover talented children at an early age and prepare them for national and international competitions, contributing to the future of Turkish winter sports.
