Cherishing the Culture: Kayin Traditional White Thread Tying Ceremony

Kayin Traditional White Thread Tying ceremony was celebrated in Mawlamyine, Mon State on Sunday.

Acting Chief Minister, Mon State Security and Border Affairs Minister Col Kyaw Swar Myint attended the ceremony and made a speech. He urged all to preserve the custom of Kayin Traditional White Thread Tying, cherishingly handed down from the Kayin ancestors, which also represents unity and national spirit. 

During the event, cash assistance were provided to Mon State Kayin Literature and Cultural association. The White Thread Tying ceremony is a traditional cultural event as well as a custom of Kayin people. It aims to promote the Kayin Cultural Heritage, cherish the Kayin National Culture and achieve unity among the entire Kayin people.
