Cheers and tears in Tokyo as Japan celebrates World Baseball Classic title

Baseball fans in Tokyo cerebrate after Japan beat the United States 3-1 on Wednesday in the final of the 2023 World Baseball Classic. About 400 fans gathered at a public viewing event near Tokyo Tower on a weekday and shared the joy of winning the 3rd WBC title.The game started just after 8:00 a.m.

Tokyo time and most of the fans there said they took a day off today to cheer for Samurai Japan.The crowd erupted when Japanese player Shohei Ohtani struck out his Los Angeles Angels teammate Mike Trout to end the game and clinch the 2023 WBC title for Japan.
