Cheap Lunch boxes: Selling for people with low-income in Mandalay

Starting from 12th December, Mandalay Region Government is selling lunch boxes with affordable price for the people with low-income in 5 townships of Mahar Aung Myae District from Monday to Friday. Total of 1,000 lunch boxes could be able to sell for 1,000 people at the first day of selling and it costs only 500 kyats for per lunch box.

Tin Win Shwe, Administrator, Mahar Aung Myay District said "We are selling cheap lunch boxes targeted to the people with low-income. It is very cheap in these days. The regional government supports rice and cooking oil for this program. Currently, selling the lunch boxes is on trial run and we made 1,000 lunch boxes for 1,000 people in per township."

This program is targeted for the people with low-income in township and as the regional government, plans are underway to increase the number of lunch boxes according to the number of buyers.

Aye Thet, Consumer said "I’m very please to buy the lunch box with 500 kyats. In every lunch box, main and side dishes such as rice, fried chicken, fried peanut and vegetable are contained. I want to the government to sell the lunch boxes with cheap price daily."

The 500 kyats lunch boxes are being sold by mobile units starting from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in townships of Mandalay where mostly live people with low-income, it’s learnt.
