A group of artists arranged to stage "Love, Peace and Joy Art Exhibition" where the profit will goes to Daw Khin Kyi Foundation as charity work in Yangon.
The charity work is to mark the 74th Birthday celebration of State Councilor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, the organizer said during a press briefing on Friday.
Daw Khin Kyi Foundation was established in 2012 with the purpose to promote health, education and living standards of the people of the country, focusing its attention especially on the needs of least developed areas.
Chairman, Event Organizing Committee, Hla Htun Aung said “The 5-member committee do the arrangement for art exhibition and prepare the 60% donation of the profit to the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation. I also painted two paintings for the art exhibition. I would like to urge all people come and buy the paintings as a charity work.”
Over 180 paintings with the price ranging from 100,000 to 1 million kyats will be showcased by 90 artists at the exhibition.
Artist, Thet Oo said “The Foundation is a non-profit charity and also receives funds from within the country and abroad as charitable donations. We will donate our 60% of profits to the foundation next month.”
Artist, Mg Htay Aung said “I drew a lot of Daw Su’s painting. This time I painted 2x 3 inches frame painting which is about the movement of Daw Aung San Su Kyi with scout uniform. We often organized the kinds of event to support for needy people.”
The opening ceremony of love, peace and joy art exhibition will take place at Artistsmile art House on Mingalar street of Nant That Gone in Insein Township on the 20th of July. The donation to the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation is set to be held on the 3rd of August.
