Cervical Cancer Vaccination Program: Ceremony held in Dawei, Thaninthayi Region

A school-based Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination program was organized in Dawei Township, Taninthayi Region, with the attendance of Chief Minister U Myat Ko.

The Chief Minister stated that, in order to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer, the Ministry of Health is planning to provide HPV vaccines for girls aged between 9 and 12.

Additionally, plans are being made to carry out a nationwide community-based HPV vaccination program. He called for the cooperation of administrative officials and the local community to ensure the successful implementation of the vaccination program through coordination and collaboration.

Then, the Region Medical Officer provided further information about the HPV vaccination program, which was followed by the screening of a video clip commemorating the vaccination program.

The Region Chief Minister and officials then visited the vaccination site, where they encouraged the students receiving the HPV vaccines.
