Ceremony of Water Pouring to Bodhi Tree: Kachin State CM attended the ceremony

The Buddha Day and pouring water the Bodhi tree on the full moon day of Kasone month was traditionally held at the compound of ancient historic Lokamanaung Pagoda in Myitkyina of Kachin State in the morning on Wednesday.

The celebration was attended by the members of Sangha led by the Presiding Sayadaw of Myitkyina Dhammarakkhita Wuntho monastery Aggamahapandita Baddanta Ketumala, State Chief Minister U KhetHtein Nan, Chief Justice of State High Court and wife, State Ministers and wives, State level departmental personnel, Wut Associations and local residents.

First, the congregation took nine precepts from the Sayadaw and took the sermon regarding with the Buddha Day and pouring water to the Bodhi tree.Next, the State Minister for Social Affairs supplicated religious affairs and the Chief Minister and officials offered offertories to the members of Sangha and shared the merits gained. After that, the congregation led by the Chief Minister poured the water to the Bodhi tree in the compound of the pagoda while the Wut associations were reciting the religious verses.

Later, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the status of constructing the Peace Reliquary Pagoda near the bank of Ayeyawady in Shansu North Ward of Myitkyina Township, ground surveying on soil and water level to construct the gravel retaining wall and gave necessary instruction to the officials concerned.

The Chief Minister held a coordination meeting to opening the universities, Colleges, Institutions, school and trainings under the advance education Department and the basic education schools at the Government office at 1 PM on 21st May.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions, heard the clarifications of State Minister for Social Affairs, Rectors, Pro-Rectors, State education officer, chairmen of District Administration bodies, principals, District and Township education officers and coordinated requirements, it’s reported.
