Ceremony of Paying Obeisance: NDC Chairman Mayor and wife attended

A ceremony of paying obeisance to the elders of 70 years old and above residing in Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee Staff-Housing was held at staff-housing community hall on 17th October and attended by NDC Chairman Mayor U Than Tun Oo and wife, Vice Mayor and officials.

At the ceremony, NDC Chairman Mayor U Than Tun Oo and wife paid obeisance to 108 elders of 70 years old and above in accordance with the Myanmar traditional customs on the full moon day of Thadingyut (Abhidhamma Day), provided cash assistance and one elder extended words of loving-kindness and wishing on behalf of all obeisance recipient elders.

After that, they performed hosting nutrition foods to elders, providing medical check and healthcare for them.

Later, the Mayor and officials visited Karunakabar Home for the Aged and donated 5 million Kyats of perpetual fund for food of the Home for the Aged by the Nay Pyi Taw Council and Nay Pyi Taw Development Bank Limited.

Consequently, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and officials also attended the ceremony of 16th Thadingyut Full Moon Day (Abhidhamma Day) held in the cave of Uppadasanti Pagoda, donated the offertories to the members of Sangha and offered day meal to the Sangha.
