Ceremony of offering Waso Robe: Taninthayi Region Government organized the ceremony

On the Waso Full Moon Day (Dhamma Cakka Day) on the 9th of July, the Tanintharyi Region Government held a Waso Robe Offering Ceremony at the Sasana Beikman Taw Gyi in Dawei.

First, Chief Minister U Myat Ko, offered a golden lotus robe, flowers, fresh water, candles, alms, and fruits to the Buddha image enshrined at the Sasana Beikman Taw Gyi. Next, the congregation led by the Chief Minister observed the Nine Precepts from the Presiding Sayadaw of the Gawthitarama Pali Takkatho Monastery in Dawei.

They then listened to the Paritta Suttas from the members of Sangha. Following this, Chief Minister U Myat Ko made religious supplications. Then, the Chief Minister, Chief Justice, Region Ministers, and other officials offered Waso robes and other donated items to the venerable Sayadaws.

They listened to the sermon from the Presiding Sayadaw of the Gawthitarama Pali Takkatho Monastery and poured water of libation to share the merits, concluding the ceremony. After that, the Chief Minister and officials offered day meals to the venerable Sayadaws, and provided food as a charitable donation to the public.
