Ceremony of Honoring Farmers: MGY Region CM attended the ceremony

A ceremony to honor farmers who exceeded target yield of Sar Pho Thar paddy strain with 150 baskets per acre and Aung Naing Toe paddy strain with 130 baskets per acre during 2024-2025  was held in Magway Township with the attendance of Chief Minister U Tint Lwin on 17th November. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the exerted efforts of the region government in accelerating crop production capacity and expressed his appreciation for the strenuous efforts of the farmers in respective districts and townships within Magway Region to exceed the targeted yields.

The Chief Minister encouraged the short duration variety cultivation in multicropping as well as quality species. He also called for the concerted efforts of the relevant officials and farmers to ensure local food sufficiency. Then, agricultural sector development procedures were clarified.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister and responsible officials presented awards and urea fertilizers to the farmers who exceeded target yield of Sar Pho Thar paddy variety and Aung Naing Toe paddy variety. They also made a tour to the awareness exhibitions.
