

A ceremony of honoring military personnel, members of Myanmar Police Force and People’s Militia, fire brigate, departmens and organizations from Bago Region who served recuse operations in the Typhon Yagi affected regions was held at the hall of Bago Township on 30th October and was attended by the Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win.
First, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said that Sittaung river level rose due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi and on 11th September Flooding started in Taungoo district after Yedashe (ရေတာရှည်), YayNi (ရေနီ) and Thargaya (သာဂရ) towships were innundated.
Thanks to the prior arrangements of evacuation for the people from the flood area by the military personnel, members of Myanmar Police Force and People’s Militia, fire brigate, departments and organizations, the losses and damages could be reduced.
Due to the excessive flood experienced in Taunggoo District within a hundred years, over 19,000 households comprised of over 72,000 individuals to 143 relief camps in 5 Townships, and 1219 households constituted 5453 individuals to 15 relief camps in 3 Townships were evacuated and provided foods, healthcare etc.
The Chief Minister expressed words of honor on behalf of the Bago Region government for the dedication of the military personnel, members of Myanmar Police Force and People’s Militia, fire brigate, departments and organizations who extended their support and assistance in these disaster-affected areas.
Following this, the Region Government provided 68.5 million Kyats of cash honor to those who participated in the evacuation and rescue efforts, extended words of thanks and cordially greeted them.
