Central Level Competition: To sharpen students’ skills in English and Mathematics

2022-2023 Academic year, the Central Level English Language Skills and Mathematics Skill Competitions were held at the No. 5 and No. 6 Basic Education High schools in Nay Pyi Taw on the 19th and the 20th of January.  The competitions organized by the Department of Basic Education under the Ministry of Education were held for middle school students with the aim to promote self-thinking skills and creation skills and to solve difficulties.

Principal, Win Myint Oo, No. 5 B.E.H.S (Nay Pyi Taw) said "The Maths competitions were suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, they’ve returned - we chose outstanding students from grade 5 to 9 step by step for basic level competition, and the winners to the regional level competition and the Central level competition."

Grade-8 Student, Su Yadanar Aung, No. 5 B.E.H.S (Nay Pyi Taw) said "I got benefits from this competition. There’re some students excited. For me, I’m not worried. I prepared a lot for this competition starting from summer holidays. And also on my school days, I study not only from the text books but also from the outside."

In this Basic Education Level English Language Skills and Mathematics Skill Competitions, 17 outstanding students from regions and states across the country participated.
