





Chairman of the Myanmar National Cultural Central Committee, SAC member, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo delivered a speech at the 6th meeting of Myanmar National Cultural Central Committee held at Win Zin Min Yar Zar Hall of National Library under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Py iTaw on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Chairman of the committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Union Ministers – Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Jeng Phang NawTaung, Deputy Ministers, Senior officials, committee members experts, representatives of the associations and departmental officials.
At the meeting, Central Committee Chairman said that all citizens need to preserve the tangible and intangible cultural heritages of the nation. Myanmar submitted Nomination Dossier (Complete) of Myauk-U Cultural heritage site to the World heritage committee on 30th December 2021. Also, a Nomination Dossier of Myanmar Traditional Mahar Thingyan Festival was submitted to the World intangible cultural heritage list on March 24, 2023.
He also said that Myanmar Museums Law (Draft) and Intangeble cultural heritage promoting law (Draft) are being conducted to be enacted and urged all relavent departments to cooperate in enacting laws that are important in preserving Myanmar's cultural heritages.
Then the Vice-Chairman of the Central committee Union Minister U KoKo clarified the preservation of the cultural heritages, conducting preservation organized by the National Intangible cultural heritage promotion committee to support for the conservation of tangible and Intangible cultural heritages in the country, measures to establish the museums represented the State and ethnic people, private museums and to enact the law for Myanmar museums (Draft).
Afterwards, Secretary of the Central Committee Deputy Minister for Religious Affaris and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan presented the completion of implementations on the decisions of 5th meeting. Next, Joint Secretary of the Central Committee, Director General of the Archaeology and National Museum department, and officials presented the related matters. Then the attendees made all round discussion and Central Committee Chairman coordinated the necessary.
After that, Central Committee Chairman made a closing remark saying that it is necessary to preserve the tangable cultral heritages as well as the intangable ones. He added that all need to conduct the preservation of the intangible cultural heritages from being copied by other countries. The Central Committee Chairman urged all to cooperate in exploration and research on cultural heritages in Myanmar for the State and the people.
