Central Committee Meeting: Efforts for data accuracy and issuance of NRC cards

Chairman of the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing held a coordination meeting with Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U ThanTunOo and members of the Supervisory Committee for Union Territory on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stated that complete census enumeration is fundamental for holding free and fair multiparty democratic general election. In order to achieve accurate voters list, the nationwide census enumeration process was carried out, and the list of 18 years and above have been submitted to the central committee after scrutinizing by the respective township, district and region level committees. These approved list have been sent to the Union Election Commission with the approval of the State Administration Council.

The Union Minister added that the Ministry is carrying out the PanKhin Project for the citizens that are eligible to cast votes to be able to hold any scrutiny cards. He called for the cooperation of respective committees to be able to collect the complete and correct data for those who are seeking temporary shelters in the Union Territory Area due to terrorist activities and natural disasters.

Then, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and concerned officials reported on the efforts for data accuracy, implementation of Pan Khin Project Phase (3), and listing the temporary displaced persons as well as the efforts for compiling voters list and issuance of identity cards for eligible citizens.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited Basic Education High School in Moe Sway Village, Ottarathiri Township where he inspected the process of issuing national registration cards.

He also looked into the process of Biographic and Biometric datas under the e-ID system, One stop service of issuing the Uniqu-ID numbers. A total of 172 individuals including students and families of local military station and residents of Moe Sway Village,  have received the National Registration Cards under the Pan Khin Project Phase (3).
