Central Committee Meeting: Deportation and transfer of detained foreigners for illegal entry

Meeting of the Central Committee for the Supervision of Deportation and Transfer of Detained Foreigners for Illegal Entry into Myanmar was held at Myanmar Police Forces Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
At the meeting, SAC member, Chairman of the Central Committee, Union Minister of Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said the Central Committee was formed on 8th November 2023 with the SAC Notification No 228/2023 to verify the foreigners arrested for illegal entry in Myanmar, to take prompt action and to deport and transfer them to respective countries.
He added that in taking action on the illegal foreigners in accordance with the Myanmar Immigration (Recent Provisions) Act, the Central Committee provides coordination between relevant departments and the embassies of the relevant countries through diplomatic channels. From 5th October 2023 to 25th March 2024, a total of 53,089 foreigners from 24 countries have been deported including 51,010 Chinese nationals.
Then, Vice-Chairman(2) of the Central Committee Union Minister U Myint Kyaing reported the work undertakings, the Joint-Secretary(1) on deportation and transfer of detained foreigners for illegal entry in Myanmar and work processes, and the attendees on progress of work implementations. The meeting concluded after delivering a closing remark by the central Committee Chairman.
