Central committee meeting: Central Farmland Management Committee held 10th meeting

The 10th meeting of Central Farmland Management Committee was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on Tuesday with the attendance of Union Minister U Min Naung and members of central management committee.

In his remark at the meeting, the Union Minister said that the necessary arrangements are being carried out to grant the compensations for the farmers who have the right on the relevant farmland not to lose for their farmland which have been confiscated for the interest of the country and the people in time in accordance with the existing farmland law and by-laws. The central farmland management committee needs to shift the type of farmland if the farmers request to change the type of the farmland from the rice cultivation to the one on which the cash crop can be cultivated after scrutinizing not to affect the region’s rice self-sufficiency and the surrounding rice farmlands etc.

Next, the secretary of the central committee Director General U Thet Naing Oo read the case files and the attendees reviewed as per the case.
