Central Committee meeting: 13th meeting of CFMC held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Central Farmland Management Committee held its 13th meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation in Nay Pyi Taw on 14th October and attended by the Committee Chairman Union Minister U Min Naung, committee members and special invited guests from the relevant departments.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Central Farmland Management Committee, Union Minister discussed that one of the committee’s most important responsibilities is to strictly follow and implement the land policies set by the state.

He emphasized that farmland must be used in accordance with laws, rules and regulations, to improve agricultural productivity. If there are applications to change the use of farmland for other purposes, the committees in different levels need to conduct on-site inspections, verify recommendations from the relevant departments, and review the existing use of the land. For only applications which everything complies with the law, the permission should be granted etc.

Next, the Secretary of Central Committee submitted the case files to be decided at the meeting and the attendees discussed as per individual fact in detail.
