Central Committee’s meeting: For holding the 76th Independence Day 2024

The Central Committee for Organizing the 76th Anniversary Independence Day 2024 held its 1st work coordination meeting at the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win said that the 76th Independence Day ceremony will be organized with (5) national objectives that are upholding three National Causes, efforts to promote comprehensive education sector that can produce human resources equipped with knowledge, skills and abilities in building a Union based on democracy and federalism, holding a free and fair election in line with the law and making efforts to ensure the right to cast votes without vacant across the nation, cooperation of the people to cease all terrorist acts and strengthen the multi-party democratic system and encouraging MSMEs based on agriculture and livestock.

Although the five objectives are set for the Independence Day, it must be put the sectors that are currently undertaken by the State. The Vice Senior General added that the Independence Day celebration will be held in three parts. The flag hoisting ceremony will be held in the morning as usual.

The honorary titles offering will be held in the afternoon and the dinner reception in the evening. He stressed that all needs to cooperate for the successful holding of the Independence Day celebration as it is the state level ceremony and to emphasize on security measures and hygiene food for attendees.

He urged all to make efforts for  holding the 76th Independence Day celebration without having any requirements by taking lessons of strong and weak points of the previous state-level Independence Day and Union Day celebrations. 

Later, Chairmen and officials of relevant sub-committees reported on preparations for the tasks and sector-wise implementations for holding the ceremony.

In the conclusion, the Vice Senior General stressed to hold the poem, essay and extempore talks at the basic education schools and universities, literary talks in commemorating the Independence Day celebration and called on sub-committees to save the financial use, to participate by all stakeholders and to raise public awareness on the independence essence.
