Central Bank Meeting: Meeting to ensure financial stability

Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Daw Than Than Swe on Friday presided over a meeting with the deputy governors, directors-general, central executive members of the Myanmar Banks Association and chief officers of the banks, and stressed on the rule and regulations and instructions set by the Central Bank of Myanmar and the tasks to be fully addressed.

During the meeting, the governor emphasized on analyzing financial stability of the banks at the end of the 2023-2024 Financial Year, clarifications on Financial Soundness Indicators, systematic management on operational risk and credit risk, strengthening corporate governance between service personnel and stakeholders as well as scrutinizing of foreign income and expenses.

The meeting also focused on Myanmar’s implementation on the recommendations of FATF, Digital payment through digital platforms, Reserve Requirement Ratio, Interest on Excess reserve and adding monetary notes on digital platform for Open market operation. The meeting was concluded after question and answer session.
