Centennial Celebration: 100th Anniversary of Mandalay University set in October

A work coordination for organizing the Centennial Anniversary of Mandalay University was held on Thursday.

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe said despite the challenges posed by the severe earthquake, the centennial celebration will held with the collective efforts of the ministry, the regional government, concerned officials, townselders and alumni. He called for cooperation of all concerned parties for successful holding of the celebration.

Attendees provided update reports on the preparation measures and future plans. Following the meeting, the Union Minister and party observed the equipment used for research at the Research Center of Mandalay University and instructed for systemtic utilizing of the equipment for effective research works.

Established in 1925 as the Mandalay College, Mandalay University reaches 100 anniversary in 2025. The Centennial cerebration will be held in coming October, under the objectives to safeguard and promote as the prestigious university of the state, to provide subjects that could support political, economic and social sectors of the state, to show the innovation and talents of outstanding undergraduate and post-graduate youths for socio-economic development, and to lay down the mission for the next 100 years.
