Centenary Celebration: MIFER UM attended the YUBC centenary celebration

The ceremonies of boat racing, presenting prizes and holding dinner in commemoration of the Yangon Universities Boat Club’s Centenary celebration was organized by Yangon Universities Boat Club Old Members Association at YUBC in Inya Road in Kamayut Township of Yangon in the morning on 24th December and graced by the Patron of the Yangon Universities Boat Club Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw.

First, Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw, Chairman of Yangon Universities Boat Club Old Members Association Dr. Than Nyunt, Chairperson of Yangon Universities Boat Club Dr. Tin Tin Htwe, Rector of Yangon University Dr. Tin Maung Tun, Rector of the Yangon Institute of Education Dr. Kay Thwe Hlaing opened the Centenary Celebration of Yangon Universities Boat Club by cutting ceremonial ribbon.

Next, the Union Minister, Rectors from relevant universities, chairmen and YUBC and YUBC Old Members Association sprinkled YUBC Logo with scented water and honored the celebration by cutting the Centenary Celebration Cake.

Afterward, the Union Minister Professor Dr. Kan Zaw gave an opening speech regarding with the centenary celebration of YUBC and wished for achieving successes in the national level and international level boat races and maintain the good traditions of the YUBC and nurturing new generations and contributing the interests of the country. Next, the Chairperson of YUBC Dr. Tin Tin Htwe extended words of delight and honor.

Then, the Union Minister and attendees looked round the historic photos of YUBC. Next, the YUBC members competed in the four and eight paddles boat racing (Men and Women) and the Union Minister awarded the YUBE Centenary Cup to the winner men and women teams and the Rectors of the Universities and Chair of YUBE Old Members Association presented the prizes.

After taking documentary group photo of Union Minister, Rectors of Universities, Chair and members of YUBC and contestant athletes, shouting the slogan for the victory of the clup, the celebration was concluded. The dinner of honor in commemoration of the YUBC Centenary Celebration was held in the evening.
