In the morning on October 1st, the nationwide population and housing census has begun, and the census-taking activities are being conducted in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
The census teams collected population and housing data from Union-level officials, Union Ministers, and their family members residing in Zeyatheiddhi Ward of Zabuthiri Township. In addition, the census-taking teams, in collaboration with the Township Census Supervisory Committee, Ward Census Committees, and supporting groups, collected data from family members of departmental heads, public service personnel, and local residents in the designated areas.
The census takers used mobile tablets to ask 68 questions from the household questionnaire, and the collected information was transmitted to the Nay Pyi Taw Headquarters Server using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) system.
For the 2024 population and housing census within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, data will be collected from 271 enumeration areas by 23 auditors and 88 enumerators. Residents are urged to cooperate for the benefit of themselves and the country.
The field census-taking will be conducted from October 1 to 15. The population data collected from the census will be used to develop balanced and well-informed policies and plans for the country’s social, economic, and administrative development across various sectors. Therefore, the national census is conducted every 10 years.
