Census Enumeration: Union Minister addresses the work coordination meeting

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing addressed a work coordination meeting at the ministry on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stressed that the ministry is making exerted efforts to ensure the accuracy of the voter lists and to fulfill the rights of every citizen; to be able to issue citizenship scrutiny cards and to cast vote in free and fair multiparty democracy general election.

He added that conducting ground surveys, Pan Khin projects, and nationwide census enumeration using e-ID system are being conducted at the same time for timely implementations of the census activities. He also instructed for the systematic procedure of the census activities.

As the 2024 Nationwide Population and Housing Census will be conducted in October 2024 independently through challenges, concerted efforts of the relevant departments are required to achieve best outcomes in census enumeration, he added.

Then, staff officers from region/state, permanent secretary and directors-general made sector-wise discussions and deputy ministers U Htay Hlaing and Dr. Myo Thant supplemented the discussion.

Upon reports, the Union Minister coordinated requirements and called on everyone involved in census enumeration to make concerted efforts for the successfully implementation of the work processes which are crucial for future of the nation.
