Census Collection: MOIP Union Minister meets with officials in Nay Pyi Taw

Chairman of the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration, Chairman of Central Census Commission Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, together with Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Census Supervising Committee and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tun Oo, met with members of Nay Pyi Taw Council and members of Committee at the Nay Pyi Taw Council office in Zabuthiri Township on Thursday.

During the meeting, the Union Minister said that the nationwide census collection activities has been started from January 2023, and the collected data has been checked and verified in e-ID server. The accurate voter list will be complied based on the demographics as per the verified lists, and government will hold a free and fair multi-party democratic general election which is one of the most important of National Government’s five-point Road Map.

At present, the Ministry has been carried out the e-ID system which is the most basic task for the e-government system of the country, he added. Moreover, during the process of pilot census collection in October 2023, 2 census plots in Nay Pyi Taw Deckhina Thiri Township have been selected among the 100 plots in 20 townships across the country, and the activities completed successfully.

He said all these processes are connected to each other and activities must be carried out for the future of the country. And he urged local authorities, related departments, social organizations and local people to cooperate in carrying out the tasks to complete within the specified period.

Then, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and concerned officials reported on their working activities and the Union Minister fulfilled the submitted requirements. Next, Union Minister U Myint Kyaing met with staffs from districts and township departments of Nay Pyi Taw Council area, and gave necessary instructions for the current activities and fulfilled the requirements submitted by the officials.
